About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max armchair features a woven rattan wrap-around backrest and a plush beige fabric seat with botanical cushions. Designed with a distinct organic profile, this armchair pairs a structural, high-backed rattan frame with a deep, upholstered seat cushion. The wrap-around backrest provides a cocoon-like aesthetic, while the base remains low to the floor for a relaxed lounge posture. The seat is finished in a neutral beige textile, complemented by two square scatter cushions featuring a dark green tropical leaf print. The contrast between the natural, textured weave of the rattan and the smooth, soft upholstery provides a balanced visual weight suitable for both indoor and semi-outdoor living environments.

The download is a 3.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Within 3ds Max, this asset is typically managed as a single object group. Users should ensure the pivot point is centered at the base for easy placement on floor planes. The rattan texture relies on high-resolution mapping, so verify the UVW coordinates upon import to maintain the scale of the weave. Lighting setups should account for the semi-transparent nature of the rattan frame to allow for realistic shadow casting and ambient occlusion around the backrest structure.

Ideal for residential living rooms, sunrooms, or boutique hotel lobbies, this piece serves as a comfortable accent chair. It integrates well into tropical, coastal, or eclectic interior schemes where natural materials are prioritised. Designers often look for this type of woven furniture when styling casual reading nooks or conservatory spaces. It pairs effectively with low-profile coffee tables and large potted indoor plants to create a cohesive, relaxed lounge arrangement suitable for hospitality projects, waiting areas, or high-end residential interior design.
