About this asset

A contemporary beige upholstered armchair in 3ds Max, featuring a soft fabric finish, a light grey scatter cushion, and a draped throw. This contemporary armchair features a clean, block-form silhouette with a deep seat and integrated armrests. The upholstery is a soft, neutral beige fabric, providing a versatile base for interior schemes. Included in the set is a square scatter cushion in a pale, cool grey tone, adding a subtle contrast in texture. A matching grey throw blanket with a delicate, fine-ribbed pattern and fringed edges is draped casually across the seat, enhancing the sense of comfort. The proportions are generous, designed for relaxed lounging, with a low-profile aesthetic that maintains a minimalist visual impact.

The download is a 22.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the object is placed on a dedicated layer to manage the complexity of the fabric folds and drapery. The throw and cushion are separate elements, allowing for easy adjustment or repositioning within the scene. Use standard material editors to refine the fabric shaders, ensuring the bump maps are correctly assigned to capture the texture of the throw. Proper lighting, ideally from a soft area light or HDRI, will help accentuate the realistic drape and soft shadows.

This armchair is ideal for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or high-end hotel lobby seating areas. Its neutral colour palette allows it to pair seamlessly with various interior styles, from modern to transitional. Professionals often search for this type of asset when looking for 'accent seating' or 'lounge chairs with accessories' to populate architectural visualisations. It provides an immediate sense of lived-in comfort to a scene, making it a valuable addition to any project requiring a refined, welcoming atmosphere.
