Arched Rattan and Grey Wood Two-Drawer Shelving Unit

This SketchUp model features an arched rattan shelving unit with two grey wooden drawers, ideal for bohemian-inspired interior designs. The shelving unit showcases a distinctive arched silhouette constructed from natural rattan, providing a lightweight and organic aesthetic. It includes three open display shelves framed by vertical rattan reeds, supported by a solid base section. The base houses two stacked drawers finished in a muted grey tone, each featuring simple, integrated pull handles. The overall structure combines the warm, textured appeal of traditional rattan weaving with clean, modern lines in the lower storage section, creating a balanced furniture piece suitable for various living spaces or bedrooms requiring a touch of artisanal character.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy placement and alignment within a room. Users can quickly scale the unit to fit specific wall heights or alcove dimensions. The textures are mapped to the geometry, and the component structure simplifies the process of applying custom material overrides if a different wood finish or paint colour is preferred for the drawer fronts. Ensure the model is placed on a level plane for accurate rendering and shadow casting.

This piece works effectively in residential projects, particularly within bedrooms, living rooms, or sunrooms that follow a bohemian or tropical design language. It serves as an excellent display unit for books, decor, or personal items while offering concealed storage for smaller essentials. Architects and designers often specify this type of furniture to soften minimalist environments or to add texture to neutral palettes. It pairs well with natural textiles, indoor plants, and soft, warm lighting setups to enhance the relaxed, organic atmosphere of a home.
