About this asset

This Japanese Zen garden SketchUp scene provides a refined outdoor environment featuring mature bonsai, bamboo, and stone paving. Composed with a focus on traditional Japanese aesthetics, this landscape scene centres on a meticulously shaped bonsai tree set against a backdrop of dark timber slatted fencing. The ground plane is defined by large-format grey stone tiles, contrasted by areas of white gravel and raised planting beds. Structural elements include a minimalist wooden gate or portal, dark stone retaining walls, and a selection of ornamental rocks and low-lying shrubs. The layout is balanced and serene, incorporating natural textures and a restrained colour palette that emphasises the organic forms of the greenery against the linear geometry of the hardscaping.

The download is a 95.1 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this scene into a larger masterplan, import the file as a component or reference it within your master SketchUp model. The geometry is organised by layer, allowing for the easy isolation of the planting, stone paving, or fencing elements. Users can adjust the lighting environment by modifying the sun settings or applying custom HDRI maps to the background to match specific project site conditions. Materials are pre-applied and can be swapped or scaled to suit specific high-resolution render requirements.

This asset is ideal for high-end residential projects, hospitality courtyards, or wellness centres where a tranquil, meditative outdoor space is required. It serves as an excellent starting point for visualising entrance gardens, private terraces, or small urban courtyards. Professionals can use this scene to quickly populate site plans or to create detailed perspectives for client presentations. It pairs effectively with minimalist architecture and contemporary interior styles, providing a soft, natural counterpoint to clean, modern building facades and large-scale glazing elements.
