Ornamental Grasses Potted Plant Set

This collection of ten ornamental grass potted plant assets for SketchUp features varied textures and blooming colours for site plans. This set contains ten distinct ornamental grass specimens, ranging from dense, low-profile tufts to taller, plume-bearing varieties. The geometry captures the fine, delicate blade structures typical of ornamental species, with some models showcasing soft pink flowering plumes and others featuring deep, lush green foliage. Each plant is presented as a singular, well-defined asset, offering a mix of upright and weeping forms. The variety allows for naturalistic layering in planting beds, providing realistic density and variation in height and colour for architectural visualisation projects.

The download is a 157 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 10 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these assets are best managed as individual components or proxies to maintain scene performance. Users can easily scale and rotate each grass tuft to avoid repetitive patterns when populating larger landscape areas. Applying subtle variations in colour through material overrides or using a scatter plugin can enhance the natural look. Ensure these are placed on a dedicated layer or tag for easy toggling during the final rendering process to keep the viewport responsive.

These ornamental grasses are essential for adding biological detail to garden designs, terrace landscaping, and exterior architectural visualisations. They pair effectively with contemporary stone paving, timber decking, or minimalist concrete planters in both residential and hospitality projects. Professionals often use these assets to soften the transition between building facades and surrounding site topography. They are particularly useful for creating depth in foreground planting or as massed clusters in urban park concepts, bringing a refined, naturalistic aesthetic to any outdoor environment.
