About this asset

This Japanese-style four-panel folding screen partition for SketchUp features intricate wood framing and printed paper panels. Constructed as a four-panel folding screen, this partition balances traditional Japanese aesthetics with functional room division. The frame is crafted from light-toned timber, featuring vertical slats that create a rhythmic, linear transparency. Integrated into the upper and lower sections of each panel are panels decorated with monochrome landscape art on a white background. The design incorporates circular cut-outs within the panels, adding a geometric contrast to the fluid, organic mountain-like contours of the frame. The overall assembly is lightweight, providing visual separation while maintaining a sense of openness and light diffusion.

The download is a 84.5 MB file containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component to ensure easy placement and scaling within interior scenes. The geometry is organised for efficient rendering; apply high-resolution textures to the paper panels to maintain detail in close-up shots. Use the native rotation tools to adjust the folding angle of each panel to suit the specific layout requirements of your floor plan, and ensure the pivot points are correctly set at the hinges for natural articulation.

This partition is ideal for creating intimate zones in open-plan residential living areas, hotel lobbies, or quiet meditation spaces. It pairs seamlessly with minimalist or Japandi-style furniture, such as low-profile platform beds or simple timber dining sets. Professionals can search for this asset when needing to introduce texture and cultural depth into interior visualisations without cluttering the floor space. It serves as an effective tool for defining transitions between functional areas in hospitality projects, such as restaurants or boutique retail showrooms.
