Industrial Exposed Ceiling Grid with Integrated Lighting

This industrial exposed ceiling grid for SketchUp features a complex network of black steel beams and integrated downlights. This technical ceiling assembly showcases an exposed structural and service grid finished in a matte black. The configuration consists of primary and secondary steel members arranged in an orthogonal layout, mimicking the look of open-plenum commercial or industrial spaces. Integrated into the framework are several small circular downlights, providing a clean, recessed appearance against the dark metal structure. The geometry is modular, defined by varying pipe and beam diameters that create a sense of depth and mechanical complexity, ideal for architectural visualisations requiring a raw, unfinished aesthetic.

The download is a 1.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component within a larger interior scene. Users should place the assembly at the desired height, ensuring it is correctly aligned with the building's structural grid. Because the model uses standard geometry, it can be easily scaled to fit specific ceiling footprints. It is recommended to group the lighting elements separately to allow for easy assignment of emissive materials or light sources for rendering engines, ensuring the grid remains clean and manageable.

This asset is suited for high-end retail environments, modern industrial-style office lobbies, and loft-style residential projects where an exposed ceiling aesthetic is desired. It pairs effectively with polished concrete floors and exposed brick walls, grounding the design in a contemporary urban context. Professionals will find this useful for early-stage conceptual planning or final high-fidelity renders, specifically when searching for industrial-inspired interior detailing, open-plenum ceiling solutions, or technical service modelling for commercial renovation projects.
