Profiles (Users)
How to edit your profile and build a high-trust professional identity.
Your profile is your public professional identity. It’s also the “application” you’ll reuse everywhere (jobs, projects, verification, discovery).
Where it lives
- Public profile:
/u/[username] - Edit profile:
/dashboard/profile
Create / Edit / Delete (CRUD)
Create
Profiles are created automatically when you register and complete onboarding:
- Register:
/register - Onboarding:
/onboarding
Edit
Edit everything from:
Recommended order (fastest payoff):
- Headline + location
- Skills (especially software)
- Experience + education
- Add projects (see
/help/projects) - Social links (optional)
Delete
Account deletion is handled via platform settings and policy. If you need removal or special handling, see:
- Legal + privacy:
/legal/privacy
A safer mental model: basic → complete → rich
Think of your profile in 3 layers:
Basic (empty/thin profile)
- No proof, no context, low trust.
Complete (credible baseline)
Minimum for “complete”:
- Real name + clear headline
- location
- 5–15 skills (mix discipline + software)
- experience + education filled (even if short)
- at least 1 project
Rich (high-trust profile)
This is what makes your profile much easier to trust and understand:
- multiple projects (2+ is a strong start)
- each project has credits (contributors) and roles
- linked companies (where you worked / who owned the work)
- software used tagged (when relevant)
- at least 1 public post or update
Verification (for professionals)
You don’t pay to “buy” verification. Focus on making your profile verifiable:
- projects with strong evidence (images + details + context)
- credits that other people can confirm
- consistent identity (same name, same company, same timeline)
