About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunrise lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a clear Venetian waterfront. Captured at a historic Venetian piazza, this 32-bit high dynamic range image captures the soft, directional quality of early morning light. The scene includes the architectural textures of stone paving and classic masonry, with the sun positioned low on the horizon, creating natural golden highlights and subtle, long shadows. The panorama maintains a full 360-degree field of view, ensuring consistent ambient illumination across the entire scene. It is designed for high-fidelity rendering, providing accurate light intensity and colour temperature for both direct sunlight and the soft, cool fill light from the clear blue sky.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot to establish global illumination and high-quality reflections. Professionals typically use this map as the primary light source to achieve realistic GI, adjusting the exposure and rotation to align the sun position with the architectural model. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless integration with standard 3D software workflows, allowing for precise control over the lighting intensity and background visibility within the viewport or final render output.

This environment map is ideal for architectural visualisations, urban design studies, and exterior rendering projects requiring a classic European waterfront backdrop. It pairs effectively with scenes featuring classical or historic architecture, providing a realistic lighting solution that enhances the materiality of stone, water, and metal surfaces. Use this asset to establish a serene, early morning atmosphere in exterior shots, or to generate accurate lighting for complex urban scenes where natural, low-angle sun and clear sky conditions are essential for visual impact.
