About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunrise lighting for 3D scenes using a historic urban square backdrop. The Quattro Canti HDRI captures a detailed, 360-degree panoramic view of a classic European urban square at sunrise. The scene features ornate, multi-story masonry buildings with classical architectural details, including statues, columns, and decorative facades. The ground is a smooth, paved plaza, while the sky is a clear, soft blue, characteristic of early morning light. The lighting is balanced and low-contrast, providing gentle, natural shadows that are ideal for architectural visualization projects requiring realistic exterior illumination without the harshness of midday sun. The image maintains high fidelity to the original site's geometry.

The download is a 6.3 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment or background slot of your 3D rendering engine. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless mapping across the sky dome. Adjust the intensity and rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light sources. For optimal results, use this map as the primary light source to drive global illumination and reflections, ensuring your materials react accurately to the warm, morning ambient light provided by this high-dynamic-range file.

This environment map is well-suited for exterior architectural renderings, particularly for projects set in historic European cities or classical urban contexts. It pairs effectively with scenes featuring stone, metal, and glass materials, providing realistic reflections and soft, natural fill light. Professionals often use this for early-stage design presentations or final visualisations where a quiet, atmospheric morning setting is required. It works seamlessly when placed in residential, hospitality, or public space projects, adding depth and context to your exterior 3D models.
