About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a sunny midday courtyard setting for realistic exterior architectural visualisations. The environment map captures a structured quadrangle courtyard during a bright, partly cloudy midday. It features a central paved path constructed from interlocking concrete blocks, flanked by manicured green lawns and tall, dense hedgerows. The sky displays a mix of clear blue patches and soft, white cumulus clouds, creating a natural diffusion of daylight. The perspective is ground-level, offering a balanced horizon line that works effectively for eye-level exterior scenes. This map provides consistent ambient lighting and realistic reflections for architectural models, avoiding harsh, high-contrast shadows while maintaining the brightness of a sunny day.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment or world lighting slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine. Ensure the mapping is set to spherical or environment mode to correctly project the 360-degree data. Adjust the exposure or intensity values to match the light levels of your scene, and rotate the map to align the sun position with your model's orientation for accurate shadow casting and realistic material reflections across your exterior surfaces.

This asset is suitable for residential or landscape design projects requiring a natural, outdoor context. It pairs well with architectural models of townhouses, suburban developments, or garden designs where a sense of place and balanced daylighting is required. Professionals searching for daylight environments, garden backdrops, or exterior lighting solutions will find this map useful for quick, high-quality visualization at the early concept or final presentation stage. It integrates seamlessly into scenes requiring a soft, realistic outdoor atmosphere without complex custom lighting setups.
