About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic afternoon interior lighting for a rustic chapel with a transparent roof. The environment features a semi-open chapel structure defined by rugged stone masonry walls and a complex timber framing system supporting a corrugated translucent roof. Rows of simple slatted wooden benches are arranged facing a central altar area, which is draped with light fabric. The space is bathed in warm, directional afternoon sunlight that filters through the roof panels, casting distinctive linear shadows across the concrete floor. This high-dynamic-range map captures the interplay between natural outdoor light and the sheltered, enclosed atmosphere of a rural event venue.

The download is a 6.5 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment into a project, load the.hdr file into the world environment slot of your chosen rendering engine. The equirectangular projection ensures correct mapping for 360-degree reflections and background visibility. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings to align the primary light source with your scene's geometry. This map serves as both a primary light source and a realistic background, eliminating the need for complex artificial lighting setups in outdoor-themed architectural visualisations.

Ideal for wedding venue design, event planning, and rural hospitality projects, this HDRI creates a natural, atmospheric lighting condition for architectural renders. It is particularly effective for showcasing interior spaces with semi-transparent roofing or open-air designs where natural light is a key architectural feature. Professionals working on landscape integration or outdoor event staging will find it useful for achieving consistent, soft-contrast illumination. Pair this environment with detailed wooden furniture or stone architectural elements to maintain a cohesive, rustic aesthetic in final visualisations.
