About this asset

Kloppenheim 1 is a 2K equirectangular HDRI map featuring a misty grass field at sunrise, providing soft, diffuse natural lighting. This HDRI environment map captures a vast, open countryside landscape during a misty sunrise. The foreground is defined by textured, dry grasses and scattered weathered stones, leading to a distant, low-lying horizon. The sky is dominated by a heavy, overcast cloud layer that diffuses the early morning light, resulting in a soft, low-contrast illumination profile. A subtle, warm glow emanates from the sun's position behind the clouds, casting gentle, non-directional highlights across the terrain. This environment is ideal for achieving realistic, atmospheric lighting in exterior architectural visualisations without harsh shadows.

The download is a 5.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the.hdr file into the world lighting slot of your rendering engine. Because it is an equirectangular projection, it will map seamlessly onto a spherical background. Adjust the rotation to align the sun's position with your scene's primary light sources. For global illumination, the diffuse nature of this sky provides excellent ambient light, which can be further balanced by adjusting the exposure or intensity settings within your software's environment panel.

This HDRI is well-suited for exterior architectural projects requiring a subdued, naturalistic atmosphere, such as rural residential developments or landscape design proposals. It pairs effectively with scenes that aim for a calm, morning aesthetic, avoiding the high-contrast intensity of direct midday sun. Professionals searching for 'soft natural sky,' 'overcast sunrise lighting,' or 'misty field background' will find this asset useful for establishing environmental mood and providing realistic reflections for building glass and metallic exterior finishes in various rendering workflows.
