About this asset

Kiara 9 Dusk is a high-dynamic-range equirectangular environment map featuring a clear, cool-toned mountain valley at twilight. This environment map captures a panoramic view of a rugged, arid valley floor transitioning into distant mountain ranges. The lighting condition reflects a calm dusk, defined by a deep blue sky that fades into a subtle, warm amber glow along the horizon line. The foreground consists of textured, rocky terrain with patches of low-lying scrub vegetation, providing a natural base plane for 3D scenes. The overall lighting is soft and diffuse, characteristic of the post-sunset period, offering a neutral, balanced illumination suitable for various architectural and landscape visualization projects requiring realistic exterior ambient light.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this file, load the HDR image into the environment or world background slot of your chosen rendering engine. Ensure the mapping is set to spherical or equirectangular to maintain correct projection. Because the map provides 360-degree coverage, it will automatically handle reflections and global illumination for your scene. Adjust the exposure value and rotation settings within the render software to align the horizon glow with your specific camera angle and desired lighting intensity for the final output.

This environment is ideal for exterior visualization projects, particularly those set in rural, mountainous, or rugged terrains. It works well for residential architecture, landscape design, or site analysis, providing a realistic backdrop that integrates seamlessly with 3D models. Professionals can use this map to achieve consistent, soft-light ambient occlusion and realistic sky reflections. It is particularly effective for twilight or evening renderings where a cool, serene atmosphere is required to complement warm interior lighting spilling out from a building's windows.
