Day Sky HDRI 061 B

Day Sky HDRI 061 B provides a 2K resolution overcast daytime environment map for realistic global illumination in 3D renders. This 2K high-dynamic-range image captures an overcast, diffuse daytime sky, ideal for projects requiring soft, even lighting without harsh shadows. The map features a consistent, cool-toned grey cloud cover that creates a neutral, natural ambient light quality. It is designed to provide both the primary light source and accurate environmental reflections, ensuring that the lighting and the background remain perfectly synchronised. The file provides a seamless 360-degree panoramic view, maintaining high fidelity across the entire sphere to support realistic lighting setups for architectural visualisations, product renders, and outdoor scenes.

The download is a 5.5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file directly into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters to align the sky with your scene's perspective. Because the map contains inherent lighting data, it eliminates the need for complex multi-light rigs, allowing for rapid iteration during the look-development phase. Ensure your gamma settings are correctly calibrated to preserve the dynamic range captured in the original file.

This environment map is suited for exterior architectural renders where a soft, diffused daylight aesthetic is required. It pairs well with projects featuring modern glass facades, concrete structures, or urban landscapes where overcast weather contributes to a realistic, grounded atmosphere. Professionals often use this file for mid-day scenes during the design development or presentation stages, providing a clean, distraction-free lighting environment that highlights material textures and geometric details without the complexity of direct sunlight or high-contrast shadows.
