Day Sky HDRI 036 a

Day Sky HDRI 036 A is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic overcast daylight and consistent reflections. This HDRI environment map captures a soft, overcast day in a rural setting, featuring a sprawling cornfield and distant treelines. The lighting is diffuse and neutral, characteristic of a cloudy sky, which minimizes harsh shadows and provides even illumination across a 3D scene. The spherical projection includes a horizon line that sits naturally within the frame, ensuring that the ground plane of a project aligns correctly with the environment. Reflective, matte, and glossy reference spheres are included in the preview to demonstrate how the light interacts with various material finishes.

The download is a 10.3 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this map, load the file into the environment slot of a rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. It functions as the primary light source, providing both ambient illumination and accurate reflections. Adjust the rotation parameter to align the sun position or horizon line with the project's specific camera angle. Because the file is high-dynamic-range, you can further fine-tune the exposure and white balance directly within the render settings to match the desired mood of the final visualization.

This environment is ideal for architectural visualizations of residential projects situated in rural or semi-rural locations. It works effectively for exterior daylight scenes where a soft, natural aesthetic is required, avoiding the high contrast of direct sunlight. Professionals often use this when presenting concept designs for farmhouses, country estates, or landscape masterplans. It pairs well with vegetation-heavy scenes and natural building materials like timber or stone, providing a balanced, realistic ambient light that helps ground the project within a believable, expansive outdoor context.
