About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic natural lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a clear-sky Alpine valley. Captured in an open Alpine field, this 360-degree environment map offers a high-dynamic-range representation of a bright, clear-sky day. The panorama features a wide, grassy foreground transitioning into rolling mountain ranges under a crisp, expansive blue sky. The lighting profile is defined by a strong, direct sun position, creating sharp shadows and high-contrast illumination suitable for outdoor architectural visualisations. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless 360-degree coverage, capturing the full range of ambient light, from the saturated greens of the valley floor to the deep, clear tones of the overhead atmosphere.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI, load the file into the environment or world lighting slot of your rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source to ensure accurate shadow casting and reflections. For optimal results, use the map as the primary light source to drive global illumination, adjusting the exposure or intensity settings to match the desired brightness of your specific project environment.

This asset is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design projects, and automotive renders where a natural, open-air setting is required. It pairs effectively with residential projects located in rural or mountainous regions, providing a realistic, non-distracting background that enhances depth. Professionals searching for natural daylighting, high-altitude aesthetics, or mountain-based environmental backdrops will find this map essential for achieving consistent, high-quality lighting in daylight scenes. It is particularly useful during the concept and final rendering stages of development.
