About this asset

Designed for deep wall assemblies, this splayed window Revit family incorporates perimeter bevelled reveals and an integrated protective security grate. The unit features an aperture set within a deep reveal, flanked by angled splayed jambs, head, and sill. A rectangular structural opening contains a multilane security grille arranged in a clean orthogonal grid across the glazed surface. Splayed returns taper outward from the inner frame plane to the exterior wall face, reflecting traditional stone and masonry defensive architecture. The glazed assembly sits flush behind the grille framework, providing a clear visual barrier while maintaining daylight penetration through the regularised pane divisions.

The download is a 461 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

Load this family directly into a Revit project and place it hosted within standard or thick exterior wall types. Check reveal depth dimensions against host wall thickness in elevation and section views to prevent cutting errors. Material parameters allow designers to assign specific finishes to the internal window frame, security bars, and glazing pane for accurate technical schedules and presentation renderings.

Ideal for historic conservation projects, heritage building retrofits, secure institutional facilities, and rustic residential designs featuring thick stone or rammed earth walls. This component pairs seamlessly with rubble masonry, textured stucco facades, and solid brickwork. Specifiers and BIM coordinators searching for splayed window opening, grilled basement window, security bar aperture, or historic embrasure Revit family will find this model well suited for early concept modelling and detailed exterior elevations.
