Rectangular Self-Illuminating Architectural Column

This contemporary self-illuminating column for Revit is a vertical feature element featuring integrated lighting and metal detailing. This architectural column features a distinct rectangular profile with integrated vertical light panels embedded along its shaft. The design incorporates a heavy, light-toned base and decorative, tiered metal collars located at the mid-section and capital, which provide structural visual weight. The shaft is composed of four vertical segments, likely housing linear lighting elements that emit an ambient glow. The material palette contrasts a warm-toned, stone-like base with dark metallic accents, creating a refined aesthetic suitable for high-end interior applications where vertical illumination is required to define circulation paths or highlight architectural features.

The download is a 430 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

As a native Revit family, this column is designed for insertion into architectural projects via the component tool or as a structural column category depending on the family base. Users can adjust the height parameters to suit ceiling clearances and link the light source to a standard electrical switch system within the model. The material parameters are pre-configured to allow for quick updates to the metal finishes or light intensity values to match specific project lighting schedules and visualisations.
