About this asset

This vintage-style lava lamp is a Revit family featuring a classic glass vessel with yellow and blue liquids and a metallic base. The lamp features a classic bullet-shaped glass vessel containing distinct yellow and blue wax layers, reminiscent of 1970s retro aesthetics. It is supported by a simple, circular metallic base and capped with a matching metallic lid. The proportions are tall and slender, typical of iconic novelty lighting designs. The geometry is clean and simplified, focusing on the essential silhouette of the object rather than complex internal fluid mechanics. This piece serves as a nostalgic decorative element, providing a pop of colour and a distinct mid-century character to any interior space.

The download is a 215 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

Users can load this RFA file directly into a Revit project as a lighting family. Once placed on a surface, the object can be adjusted for height or shifted within the furniture plan. Because this is a simplified 3D representation, it is best suited for interior visualisations and room schedules. Ensure the family is placed on a work plane or surface to maintain correct elevation, and use standard Revit materials to adjust the transparency of the glass and the reflectivity of the metallic components.

This lava lamp is designed for residential projects, particularly in bedrooms, home offices, or media rooms seeking a retro or eclectic vibe. It also functions well in hospitality settings like boutique hotels or themed bars that require vintage-inspired decor. Professionals searching for accent lighting, novelty accessories, or period-specific interior details will find this asset useful for adding personality to rendered scenes. It pairs effectively with mid-century modern furniture or bohemian-style interior schemes, serving as a focal point or a playful secondary light source.
