Modern Brown 5x5 Open Cube Bookshelf – Ikea Expedit

Featuring a clean twenty-five compartment grid, this Revit family provides a modern brown cube bookshelf tailored for residential and office layouts. The unit exhibits a square 5x5 open-grid formation with twenty-five identical cubby apertures. Built with a pronounced, thick perimeter frame and slender interior horizontal and vertical partitions, the shelving unit functions equally well against a perimeter wall or freestanding as a room partition. The open-back structure allows light and sightlines to filter straight through. Finished in a uniform dark brown tone reminiscent of stained veneer or laminate, the geometric silhouette provides balanced proportions suitable for holding standard storage baskets, vinyl records, decorative objects, and literature.

The download is a 205 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

As a native Revit furniture component, load the RFA file directly into your project environment and position it on any standard floor level. The clean geometry ensures lightweight model performance across complex floor plans without inflating project file size. Assign custom finish parameters to align the surfaces with corporate finishes, timber specifications, or white paint schedules in realistic views and visualisations.

Suited to residential schemes, creative studio spaces, commercial breakout areas, and education libraries, this modular unit serves either as dedicated perimeter shelving or an ambient spatial divider. It coordinates naturally with contemporary work desks, casual lounge armchairs, and storage bins. Design teams frequently incorporate this freestanding cube storage system into living room layouts, home offices, and open-plan workplace interior presentations where functional storage and spatial zoning must coexist seamlessly.
