About this asset

Framed in profiled trim, this modern glazed transom Revit family features a wide rectangular direct set glass unit for architectural openings. The model depicts a wide horizontal rectangular direct set unit characterised by a prominent stepped exterior casing. An outer moulded architrave with mitred corners wraps an inset frame holding a single, continuous rectangular pane of glass. Rendered in a muted olive sage finish, the trim detailing provides depth and shadow lines around the perimeter. The clean geometric casing interfaces cleanly with exterior wall assemblies, offering a classic stepped profile designed to align horizontally over exterior doors or beneath high clerestory lines.

The download is a 512 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.

Designed as a native Revit family, the component inserts directly into standard host walls with automatic rough opening cutouts. Architects can align the unit over door heads or gang it horizontally along facade elevations. Material parameters allow easy mapping of frame, trim, and glazing materials to match specific project standards, while graphic overrides maintain crisp lines in elevation and plan views.

Appropriate for custom residential residences, luxury boutique hospitality, and suburban light commercial projects, this unit functions effectively as a transom window above outswing patio doors or an isolated high-level clerestory. It complements panelled entrance doors, glazed French doors, and matching casements in living rooms, entry foyers, and master bedrooms. Designers frequently specify direct set transom units to introduce natural daylight while maintaining clean sightlines and traditional fenestration proportions.
