This Revit room tag family provides a structured table for displaying room names, numbers, areas, and specific floor, wall, and ceiling finishes. Designed for technical documentation, this annotation family features a clean, tabular layout suitable for floor plan sheets. The tag is organised into six distinct rows: Room Name, Number, Area, Floor Finish, Wall Finish, and Ceiling Finish. Each field is clearly labelled with sans-serif text, maintaining high readability at standard architectural scales such as 1:50 or 1:100. The bounding box is defined by simple linework, ensuring it integrates cleanly into various project templates without visual clutter. This family allows for efficient scheduling and clear communication of interior specifications directly within the Revit environment.
The download is a 123 KB file containing a Revit family (.rfa). Load it into a project from the Insert tab with Load Family, then place it like any other component of its category; it schedules and tags with the rest of your model.
To use this family, load the RFA file into your project and assign it to the Room category. Once placed in a floor plan, the tag automatically pulls parameters from the associated Room object. Users can modify the label parameters to map to existing project parameters or shared parameters for custom finish schedules. Adjust the text size and line weights via the family editor to match your office standards and sheet requirements.
This tag is essential for interior designers and architects working on residential, hospitality, or office projects where detailed finish call-outs are required on plan. It is particularly useful during the construction documentation phase to provide clear, at-a-glance information for contractors and site managers. By centralising finish data within the room tag, you reduce the need for excessive leader lines and separate finish schedules, creating a more concise and readable set of architectural drawings for complex interior fit-outs.
