About this asset

Designed with sweeping organic curves, this contemporary ribbon pendant light 3ds Max model features a flowing illuminated band suspended by slim cables. The fixture showcases a sculptural, continuous ribbon that bends and twists in a freeform loop, creating dynamic visual movement from every angle. A slender metallic perimeter frame borders the translucent, micro-textured diffuser surface, which casts a soft diffused glow across its length. Three minimalist suspension cables anchor the piece overhead via compact circular ceiling canopies, ensuring balanced suspension despite the asymmetrical silhouette. The delicate profile balances structural lightness with expressive geometry, rendering it an architectural focal point suitable for expansive overhead voids.

The download is an 8.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, merge the fixture directly into your master scene and adjust suspension cable lengths to suit your ceiling heights. The layered geometry allows straightforward assignment of self-illuminated or translucent two-sided materials to the ribbon diffuser. Ensure scene units match prior to placement, and assign an ambient light or mesh emitter along the inner curve to calculate accurate direct and indirect illumination across adjoining interior surfaces.

Ideal for high-ceiling residential dining rooms, grand entry foyers, and double-height living areas, this luminaire also integrates seamlessly into hotel reception lobbies, upscale lounge bars, and executive boardrooms. It pairs effortlessly with minimalist dining tables, architectural stone surfaces, and clean-lined contemporary cabinetry. Designers searching for sculptural statement lighting, wave chandeliers, or flowing suspended luminaires will find this asset well-tailored for conceptual development through high-end client presentation visuals.
