About this asset

This wabi-sabi indoor plant 3ds Max model features a single delicate fern stem emerging from a dark, textured cylindrical ceramic pot. The asset depicts a singular, sculptural fern with a slender, arching stem and fine, feathery foliage. It is potted in a heavy, cylindrical ceramic vessel finished with an irregular, dark-toned glaze that mimics natural weathering and organic textures. The base of the stem features a bulbous, textured element reminiscent of a pinecone or dried tuber, grounding the plant within the container. The overall aesthetic is minimalist and earthy, intended to evoke a sense of quietude and natural imperfection. The proportions are tall and graceful, making it suitable for corner placement or as an accent.

The download is a 68.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is typically handled as a standalone object. Users should ensure the pivot point is at the base of the pot for easy placement on floor surfaces. Since the model relies on organic shapes, adjusting the material map tiling on the pot surface can help avoid repetition. It is recommended to use an instance for multiple placements to optimize viewport performance, while applying a high-quality environment map to capture the subtle reflections on the glazed ceramic finish.

This botanical asset is ideal for residential living areas, boutique hotel lobbies, and contemporary spa interiors where a wabi-sabi or organic aesthetic is desired. It pairs effectively with minimalist furniture, raw timber textures, and neutral plaster wall finishes. Professionals searching for natural greenery to soften hard architectural lines, or those looking to introduce biophilic elements into high-end interior visualizations, will find this model useful for adding authentic detail to corner vignettes and alcoves in both residential and commercial project stages.
