Traditional Chinese Stone Lion Gate Sculpture Set

This SketchUp model features a pair of traditional Chinese guardian lion sculptures, carved from stone for gate or entryway placement. These detailed stone sculptures depict the traditional guardian lion, or shishi, mounted upon a decorative plinth. Each piece is integrated into a vertical stone backplate, designed to flank a gate or architectural entrance. The carving displays intricate relief work on the base, featuring lotus petal motifs and geometric patterns. The lions are rendered in a classic pose, with one paw resting on a smaller cub, capturing the customary iconography found in historical Chinese architecture. The texture suggests a weathered, matte stone finish, consistent with traditional masonry used in monumental exterior installations.

The download is a 24.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 2 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these components are best handled as a single group or component set to maintain their relative alignment. Given the complexity of the carved detailing, users should ensure the geometry is simplified if necessary for performance in larger masterplan models. Apply high-resolution stone textures with appropriate bump mapping to highlight the relief depth. These assets are scaled for standard residential or garden gate heights, though they may require uniform resizing to suit specific architectural site plans or custom boundary wall configurations.
