About this asset

This Scandinavian 3ds Max model of a natural wood armchair features a woven seat and backrest, complemented by a soft yellow cushion. Defined by its clean lines and organic profile, this armchair showcases a solid natural wood frame with tapered legs and sculpted armrests. The seat and backrest are constructed from tightly woven cord or paper-like material, providing a tactile texture that contrasts with the smooth timber finish. A singular, plush yellow cushion sits on the seat, adding a pop of colour and comfort to the minimalist structure. The low-slung, reclined posture and open-frame design evoke a classic mid-century aesthetic, making it a versatile piece for various interior styles that prioritise warmth and craftsmanship.

The download is a 7.1 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised into logical layers for easy manipulation of the frame, woven elements, and cushion. Users can easily scale the chair to fit specific spatial requirements or apply custom wood grain textures to the frame geometry. The mesh is optimized for clean topology, ensuring efficient viewport performance. For rendering, adjust the fabric shader on the cushion to achieve the desired level of softness and light absorption, while the wood frame benefits from a subtle bump map to highlight its natural grain.

This armchair is ideal for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or boutique hotel lobbies where a relaxed, inviting atmosphere is required. It pairs well with low-profile coffee tables, textured wool rugs, and floor lamps to create a curated lounge setting. Professional designers often search for terms like 'scandinavian lounge chair', 'woven wood armchair', or 'minimalist accent seating' when sourcing furniture that balances comfort with a refined, airy aesthetic. Its neutral timber base ensures compatibility with diverse colour palettes and interior design schemes.
