Red and Beige Wood Taiko Drum on Stand

This 3ds Max model features a traditional Taiko drum with a detailed wooden stand, showcasing a red lacquer finish and leather skin. The drum features a cylindrical body finished in a glossy red lacquer, mounted securely on a complex, interlocking wooden stand. The drumhead is rendered in a textured beige material, marked with a prominent black graphic illustration of a mythical creature. Gold-toned metal lion-head handles are attached to the sides, providing structural points for the drum. The supporting stand is constructed from dark-stained timber, featuring traditional joinery and carved detailing that elevates the instrument. Every component is defined with clear geometry, capturing the authentic proportions and aesthetic of a ceremonial percussion piece.

The download is a 2.8 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this asset is best handled as a singular object within a scene. Users should check the material slots to ensure the leather texture and wood grain maps are correctly linked. Given the intricate nature of the stand, it is recommended to keep the geometry on a dedicated layer for easy manipulation or scaling. Lighting should be adjusted to highlight the metallic sheen of the side handles and the contrast between the red body and the light-coloured drumhead.

This asset is suited for high-end residential interiors, boutique hospitality settings, or cultural exhibition spaces. It serves as a focal point in living rooms, library nooks, or hotel lobbies that incorporate Japanese or wabi-sabi design elements. Professionals searching for authentic cultural artefacts or unique decorative accents will find this piece useful for establishing a specific thematic narrative. It pairs effectively with minimalist furniture or traditional room dividers, providing a textured, historical anchor to a space that requires a distinct, non-standard decorative element.
