About this asset

This rectangular fabric rug for SketchUp features a distinct grey and white geometric pattern suitable for interior visualisations. This rectangular area rug showcases a repeating geometric motif rendered in a neutral grey and white palette. The design incorporates alternating bands of intricate tribal-inspired patterns and simpler diamond-grid structures, creating a balanced visual rhythm across the surface. The textile appears to have a flat-weave finish, making it appropriate for diverse interior settings. The proportions are elongated, designed to anchor seating groups or dining areas effectively. Its low-profile construction ensures it integrates seamlessly into floor planes without creating unwanted clipping issues in a 3D environment, maintaining a clean and realistic appearance.

The download is a 21 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Users should align the rug's geometry with the floor plane, ensuring the face is slightly offset to prevent Z-fighting during renders. The texture mapping is pre-applied, though scaling may be adjusted using the native material editor to suit the specific room dimensions. It works well when paired with light-emitting components to simulate natural sunlight casting soft shadows across the textile surface, enhancing the overall depth of the floor finish.

Ideal for residential living rooms, bedrooms, or casual dining spaces, this rug adds texture and warmth to minimalist or bohemian-styled interiors. It functions effectively in hospitality projects like boutique hotel suites or modern cafe lounge areas where a neutral yet patterned floor covering is required. Designers often search for this type of asset when looking to soften hard floor finishes such as timber or concrete. It pairs well with mid-century modern furniture, solid-colour upholstery, and natural wood accents to create a cohesive, layered look.
