About this asset

This contemporary rectangular rug for 3ds Max features a high-contrast distressed black and grey abstract pattern across its surface. This rectangular area rug offers a sophisticated aesthetic, defined by its moody, distressed finish. The pattern is composed of overlapping tonal variations of black and grey, creating a sense of depth and organic movement similar to weathered stone or ink washes. The edges are clean and sharp, providing a modern profile that sits flush against the floor plane. Its texture suggests a short-pile fabric construction, making it versatile for various interior styles. The piece is presented as a single, flat model, ideal for defining zones within a larger open-plan layout or softening hard floor surfaces.

The download is a 1 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Within 3ds Max, this model is structured as a flat object, allowing for simple placement on any floor surface. Users should ensure the object is snapped to the floor level to avoid clipping. The material can be adjusted by swapping the diffuse or opacity maps if a different pile density or wear pattern is required. Because the geometry is minimal, it is highly efficient for large-scale interior scenes and can be easily scaled to fit specific room dimensions without compromising the integrity of the texture mapping.

This rug is suited for residential living rooms, modern bedrooms, or luxury hotel suites where a monochromatic, textural anchor is required. It pairs effectively with minimalist or industrial furniture, providing a subtle contrast to neutral flooring or polished concrete. Professionals might search for this asset when specifying soft furnishings for contemporary apartments, creative studios, or high-end retail showrooms. It functions well as a foundational element, grounding seating arrangements or dining sets, and is particularly effective in spaces that require a sophisticated, understated visual interest.
