About this asset

This 3ds Max model of an oriental altar cabinet features a decorative timber lattice screen and a two-door base with wood grain. This traditional altar cabinet is constructed with a vertical frame featuring intricate timber lattice detailing on the sides and top canopy. The base unit consists of a two-door cabinet finished in a patterned natural wood veneer, providing enclosed storage. A circular metal or dark-finished hoop element is fixed within the upper display area, serving as a focal point. The design balances open architectural structure with functional cabinetry, creating a formal space for ritual objects. It includes small decorative accessories on the internal shelf, completing the traditional aesthetic of this compact, vertical furniture piece.

The download is a 12.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised into logical groups for easy placement within a scene. Users should check the scale against a standard room height to ensure the vertical proportions are correct. Textures are applied to the wood surfaces and lattice, allowing for individual material adjustment. The model can be merged into a larger interior scene, with lighting setup to highlight the depth of the lattice screen and the reflective qualities of the internal accessories for a realistic final render.

Ideal for residential interiors, this altar cabinet is suited for dedicated prayer spaces, living rooms, or hallways in traditional or fusion-style homes. It serves as a focal point for cultural or spiritual decor, often paired with minimal furniture to emphasise its architectural silhouette. Designers searching for heritage-inspired pieces, ritual furniture, or feature cabinetry for high-end residential projects will find this asset useful for creating authentic, culturally grounded environments. It integrates well into projects requiring a blend of historical reverence and modern interior design.
