Neoclassical Plaster Ceiling with Ornate Medallion

A detailed neoclassical plaster ceiling model for 3ds Max, featuring a central ornate medallion and elaborate corner decorative motifs. This square ceiling system is designed in a traditional neoclassical style, featuring a highly detailed central medallion perfectly suited for a chandelier or pendant light. The perimeter is defined by layered moulding profiles, including a decorative dentil or block-pattern band. The four corners are adorned with intricate acanthus-style scrollwork, while circular medallions are positioned at intervals along the outer frame. The geometry is clean and structured, providing a realistic representation of cast plaster architectural elements. The relief depth is significant, ensuring sharp shadow definition in rendered visualisations of formal interiors.

The download is a 261 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with V-Ray materials. Open it in 3ds Max with V-Ray installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is typically handled as a single architectural element. Users should align the central medallion with the desired lighting fixture position. Because the file is provided as a detailed mesh, it is best placed on a dedicated layer to manage viewport performance. Material application is straightforward; a simple white plaster or matte paint shader with subtle bump maps will effectively highlight the fine moulding details and relief work during the rendering process.

This ceiling element is ideal for high-end residential projects, including grand foyers, dining rooms, and formal living spaces. It is also suitable for luxury hospitality interiors, such as boutique hotel lobbies or refined restaurant dining areas. Designers often use such assets to establish a sense of historical authenticity in renovation or new-build projects. It pairs well with classical furniture, crystal chandeliers, and wall panelling, often searched for when creating traditional, heritage-inspired, or opulent interior design schemes.
