Modern Marble and Wood Slatted Reception Desk

This modern SketchUp reception desk features a striking combination of a white marble base and diagonal slatted timber cladding. The desk presents a clean, rectangular silhouette defined by a solid white marble base with subtle grey veining. An overlay of thick, natural timber slats is arranged in a dynamic diagonal pattern across the front facade, creating a textured, rhythmic aesthetic. The design includes an integrated planter space on the left side, providing a natural accent. The work surface is clear, accommodating a monitor or desktop computer setup. This piece is a sophisticated choice for professional environments, balancing the cold, polished finish of stone with the warmth and organic character of natural wood grain.

The download is a 3.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Import this SketchUp component directly into your project file via the component browser. The model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy adjustment of the timber slats or the marble base geometry if required. Apply custom textures to the wood and stone surfaces to match your specific interior palette. Ensure the desk is placed on a dedicated layer for better visibility management in complex lobby scenes and use standard lighting setups to highlight the depth of the slatted cladding.

Ideal for corporate reception areas, hotel lobbies, and high-end retail showrooms, this desk serves as a focal point in any professional entrance. It pairs effectively with minimalist seating arrangements and contemporary wall panelling. Designers often search for this type of asset when planning executive office fit-outs or boutique hospitality projects that require a blend of natural materials and modern form. The integrated planter makes it particularly suitable for biophilic design concepts in modern commercial spaces, enhancing the welcoming atmosphere of the reception area.
