About this asset

This modern light wood staircase display shelving unit is a SketchUp model featuring an asymmetrical stepped design and base cabinets. Constructed with a light-toned wood finish, this shelving unit features a distinct stepped, asymmetrical silhouette that provides varied compartment sizes for display. The lower section incorporates two closed storage cabinets with minimal hardware, offering a clean foundation for the open shelving above. The structure is finished with a white edge banding that defines the geometric profile of the shelves. Included in the set are various decorative accessories, such as books, a potted succulent, and sculptural objects, which populate the shelves to demonstrate scale and styling potential for interior compositions.

The download is an 8.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised as a component, allowing for easy placement and alignment within a room model. The textures are mapped for standard rendering workflows, and users can adjust the wood grain orientation or swap materials using the material editor. The decorative items are grouped separately from the main shelving unit, enabling users to toggle their visibility or relocate them to suit specific interior design requirements without modifying the primary furniture geometry.

This shelving unit is well-suited for contemporary residential living rooms, home offices, or boutique retail spaces where a feature display is required. Its stepped profile makes it an effective room divider or a focal point against a blank wall. Designers often search for this type of piece when looking for modern storage solutions that balance open display with concealed cabinet space. It pairs naturally with minimalist decor, indoor plants, and curated book collections to create a refined, lived-in aesthetic for high-end residential projects.
