Minimalist Black Stained Wood Box Armchair

This minimalist black wood armchair for 3ds Max features a sharp, geometric box-like frame and a distinct cross-base support structure. Defined by its uncompromising geometric silhouette, this armchair is constructed from dark-stained timber with a visible wood grain. The design centres on a box-like seat and backrest assembly, which sits atop a structural cross-base that extends below the seat level. Wide, flat armrests provide a clean horizontal line that contrasts with the verticality of the base. The proportions are low and deep, emphasising a solid, architectural presence. Every junction is precise, resulting in a monolithic appearance that functions as both a functional seat and a sculptural object within a room.

The download is a 30.9 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into a 3ds Max scene, ensure the pivot point is set to the base for easy placement on floor planes. The geometry is clean, allowing for straightforward material application or UV adjustments if necessary. Use standard material editors to refine the wood grain reflection maps to match your project lighting environment. Because the form is highly structural, it benefits from ambient occlusion passes during rendering to highlight the sharp edges and the intersection of the base components.

This piece is well-suited for contemporary living rooms, executive office lounges, or high-end gallery spaces where a statement chair is required. It pairs effectively with low-profile coffee tables or as a standalone accent in a minimalist interior. Professionals looking for sculptural, architectural seating will find this model useful for creating focal points in residential or commercial design schemes. It fits seamlessly into projects requiring a strong, monochromatic element that balances form and function while maintaining a sophisticated, understated aesthetic.
