About this asset

This 3ds Max model of a mature Banyan tree features dense foliage and characteristic hanging aerial roots for realistic landscape visualisations. This 3D representation captures a mature Banyan tree, notable for its complex, interconnected trunk structure and abundant, cascading aerial roots. The canopy is composed of a dense, layered arrangement of light green leaves, providing natural volume and texture. The trunk and branches exhibit a weathered, organic surface, while the hanging roots drape naturally from the lower limbs down to the base. This model is designed as a standalone specimen, suitable for focal points in architectural scenes where a sense of age, tropical character, or established greenery is required.

The download is a 33.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When working with this 3ds Max asset, ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer to manage scene complexity effectively. Users should check the material IDs for the foliage and trunk components to allow for quick adjustments to leaf transparency or bark colouration. It is recommended to use an instance or proxy workflow if duplicating the tree across large site plans to maintain viewport performance, while applying high-quality HDRI lighting to properly define the depth within the intricate root and leaf structures.

This Banyan tree is ideal for exterior landscape renderings, tropical resort masterplans, and high-end residential garden designs. It pairs well with stone paving, water features, or minimalist architectural facades to provide a strong organic contrast. Professionals searching for mature tropical vegetation, garden focal points, or realistic Ficus species for site development will find this asset essential for adding scale and environmental detail to their projects. It is a versatile choice for both conceptual massing and final high-fidelity visualisations in diverse outdoor settings.
