About this asset

This modular kids room storage unit in SketchUp features a prominent circular green niche integrated into a natural wood cabinet. Constructed from a warm, light-toned wood laminate, this low-profile storage unit is designed specifically for a child's bedroom or playroom. The primary structure consists of rectangular shelving modules and closed cupboards, providing versatile storage for books, toys, and accessories. A standout feature is the large, circular green-lined niche embedded into the right side of the unit, serving as a focal point or display area. The overall composition is balanced, combining open cubbies for accessibility with solid doors for concealed storage, keeping the aesthetic clean while maintaining functionality for a young user's space.

The download is a 105 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this model into a SketchUp project, ensure the components are organized on separate layers to allow for easy toggling of the decorative items versus the main cabinetry. Use the native scale tool to adjust the unit to fit specific wall lengths if necessary. Applying high-resolution wood grain textures to the cabinet surfaces will enhance realism, while utilizing the outliner to manage groups helps in maintaining a clean model workspace for efficient scene rendering and lighting setup.

This storage unit is ideal for residential interior design projects, particularly for nurseries, bedrooms for young children, or dedicated playrooms. It pairs effectively with minimalist or modern decor, acting as a functional anchor for a feature wall.
