Industrial Natural Wood and Metal Hourglass Side Table

This industrial side table for SketchUp features a round natural wood top supported by a distinctive, black wire-frame hourglass base. The side table presents a geometric, industrial aesthetic defined by a contrasting material palette. A circular, solid wood tabletop with a prominent grain pattern sits atop a structural base formed from thin, black-finished metal rods. These rods are arranged in a dynamic, converging hourglass configuration, secured by a central circular ring that provides both stability and visual interest. The slim profile of the frame ensures a lightweight appearance, making it an ideal choice for compact interior spaces where a balance between material warmth and raw, structural design is desired.

The download is a 1.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is structured for straightforward placement within your interior scenes. The geometry is grouped to facilitate easy scaling or material adjustments to the wood grain and metal finish. Users can quickly insert this asset into their workspace, using the base as a snap point for precise alignment against soft furnishings. For rendering, apply appropriate reflection and bump maps to the wood texture to enhance realism, while ensuring the metal shader captures subtle light highlights across the wire-frame structure.

This versatile piece functions effectively as an accent table in residential living rooms, placing it beside lounge chairs or sofas to provide a surface for books and lighting. Its compact footprint also suits hotel lobbies, boutique retail displays, or contemporary cafe interiors where a minimalist, industrial touch is required. Designers often search for this type of object when looking for small-scale occasional tables, wire-frame furniture, or round accent pieces that complement modern, loft-style, or urban-themed interior design projects.
