About this asset

This 3ds Max model set features eight distinct traditional Asian roof sections, showcasing curved eaves and detailed tile work. This collection comprises eight varied roof configurations characteristic of traditional East Asian architecture. Each element features characteristic upswept eaves, intricate ridge detailing, and dark grey ceramic tile surfaces. The models include both decorative roof cap sections and structural support frames rendered in a rich, dark timber finish. The geometry captures the rhythmic pattern of the individual tiles and the ornate joinery often found in historical structures. These components are designed with consistent proportions, allowing them to be combined or layered to create diverse roof profiles for heritage-inspired building projects or exterior site visualisations.

The download is a 27.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 8 separate objects. Open it in 3ds Max; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, these roof sections are organised as individual assets, allowing for easy selection and placement within your scene. Use the pivot points to align the roof components with your structural walls or support columns. The materials are applied as standard meshes, which can be easily swapped or modified using the material editor. Because these are modular, you can instance them to create complex roof lines or adjust the scale to fit specific building footprints without losing surface detail.

These roof assets are suitable for exterior architectural visualisation, particularly for projects involving heritage sites, luxury resorts, or thematic garden pavilions. They pair effectively with timber framing, stone cladding, and traditional landscape features. Search for these models when developing cultural buildings, zen-inspired exterior spaces, or historical reconstructions. They are ideal for mid-to-late stage rendering where authentic architectural detailing is required to convey the specific aesthetic of Far Eastern design, whether for residential developments or boutique hospitality projects.
