About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max armchair features a cream fabric barrel-back frame and a decorative geometric-patterned scatter cushion. This barrel-style armchair is defined by its rounded, enveloping backrest that provides a cohesive, curved profile. Upholstered in a soft-touch cream fabric, the piece sits upon a recessed dark wood base, creating a subtle floating effect. The seat is deep and cylindrical, offering a clean, minimalist silhouette. A single square accent cushion, finished in a contrasting grey and white geometric weave, is included to add texture and visual interest to the seating area. The overall proportions are compact, making it a versatile choice for intimate lounge settings or quiet corners.

The download is a 25.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the pivot point is set to the base for easy rotation and placement within your scene. The fabric textures are mapped to accommodate standard lighting setups, though you may need to adjust the tiling or bump intensity to suit your specific render engine. Layers are typically organised by material, allowing for quick adjustments to the upholstery or wood finish without affecting the underlying geometry of the chair or the accompanying accent cushion.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or executive breakout spaces. Its curved, inviting form pairs effectively with low-profile coffee tables or as a standalone accent piece in a master suite. Designers often search for these items when specifying luxury seating that balances comfort with a refined, sculptural aesthetic. It works particularly well in minimalist or contemporary interiors where soft, organic shapes are required to break up the linearity of traditional architectural features and hard-surfaced furniture arrangements.
