Contemporary Round Rope Area Rug Set of 4

This contemporary set of four round rope area rugs for SketchUp features intricate coiled textures in neutral and abstract palettes. This collection consists of four distinct circular area rugs, each constructed from a continuous length of coiled rope. The design emphasises a tactile, spiral aesthetic that creates a subtle, three-dimensional surface texture. Two rugs feature solid, monochromatic tones in white and light grey, providing a minimalist foundation for interior spaces. The remaining two rugs incorporate abstract, painterly patterns, utilising a palette of beige, terracotta, charcoal, and mustard yellow to add visual interest. These pieces serve as versatile accents, offering a soft, organic contrast to hard floor finishes like timber or polished concrete.

The download is a 46.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 4 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these rugs are best utilised as components within a larger interior scene. Users should place them on a flat surface, ensuring the geometry is slightly offset from the floor plane to prevent z-fighting during rendering. The material mapping is pre-configured to follow the circular path of the rope, though users can adjust the texture scale or apply custom bump maps to enhance the depth of the coils. Organise these assets into specific layers to easily toggle visibility during the design development phase.
