About this asset

This contemporary olive green velvet armchair for 3ds Max features a distinct circular silhouette and a matching square scatter cushion. Defined by its deep, circular form, this armchair offers a cocoon-like seating experience. The seat is upholstered in a rich, olive-green velvet with soft, gathered pleating that radiates towards the centre, creating a textured, luxurious finish. It is supported by a dark, solid-coloured cylindrical base that provides a grounding, minimalist contrast to the plush seating area. A matching square throw cushion with subtle cross-stitching detail is included, adding extra lumbar support and visual depth. The overall geometry is organic and inviting, suitable for high-end interior compositions requiring a sculptural, comfortable focal point.

The download is an 11 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate this model into a 3ds Max scene, use the standard merge function to import the asset into your current project file. Ensure the pivot point is correctly aligned at the base for easy placement on floor surfaces. The velvet material is set up as a multi-sub-object, allowing for fine-tuning of the fabric reflectivity and bump maps in your material editor. Use a soft area light or HDRI to highlight the subtle folds and texture of the velvet fabric.

This armchair is an ideal choice for modern living rooms, hotel lobbies, or boutique retail spaces where a soft, sculptural accent is needed. Designers often search for this type of asset when specifying luxury seating for reading nooks, master bedrooms, or informal meeting areas. Its neutral yet bold aesthetic makes it versatile for a range of contemporary and transitional interior design schemes.
