About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max model depicts a sculptural accent chair shaped like an open hand, finished in a natural wood grain. This distinctive accent chair features a unique, anthropomorphic design inspired by the form of an open palm. The seat is formed by the palm, while the backrest is constructed from fingers positioned vertically to provide a curved, semi-enclosed support. The entire piece is rendered in a warm, natural wood finish, highlighting the organic curves and joinery of the sculpted elements. A flared, circular pedestal base provides stability, grounding the whimsical form. Its proportions are designed for visual impact, making it a focal point in any interior space rather than a standard ergonomic seating solution.

The download is a 16 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

For integration into 3ds Max scenes, ensure the model is scaled appropriately for your interior environment. The geometry is clean, allowing for easy application of custom wood grain shaders or UV adjustments if necessary. Use standard lighting setups to accentuate the soft, rounded highlights on the wood surfaces. The pivot point is positioned at the base, facilitating simple placement on floor planes. Maintain the model on a dedicated layer to manage scene complexity when populating larger residential or commercial projects.

Ideal for high-end residential projects, quirky boutique hotel lobbies, or avant-garde retail showrooms, this piece serves as a striking statement object. It functions best as an accent chair in a lounge, reading nook, or art-focused living area where sculptural furniture is desired. Pair this with minimalist or neutral surroundings to allow the unique silhouette to stand out.
