About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max armchair features grey velvet upholstery and a black metal frame, accented by a draped herringbone throw. Defined by clean lines and a minimalist silhouette, this armchair features a boxy, fully upholstered seat and backrest finished in a soft, grey velvet textile. The frame is constructed from slender black metal, providing a sharp contrast to the plush upholstery. A draped throw blanket with a monochromatic herringbone pattern adds texture and a casual, lived-in aesthetic to the composition. The design balances industrial-inspired structural elements with the tactile comfort of velvet, making it a versatile piece for various interior styles, from modern apartments to refined professional lounge spaces.

The download is a 43.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised with clear layer separation between the upholstery, metal frame, and the draped throw. Users can easily adjust the fabric shaders to match specific project requirements or swap the herringbone texture map on the blanket. The geometry is clean, allowing for efficient placement in a scene. Standard material mapping is applied to the frame and fabric, facilitating quick integration into existing architectural visualisations or interior design mockups using native render engines.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, and executive office reception areas. It pairs effectively with minimalist coffee tables, area rugs, and floor lamps to create a focused seating zone. Designers searching for modern lounge furniture or comfortable reading chairs will find this asset useful for staging refined interior scenes. Its neutral palette ensures it complements a wide range of colour schemes, from monochromatic interiors to spaces featuring bold, contemporary accent colours.
