About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max rocking armchair features a natural wood frame, dark brown leather upholstery, and a soft grey lumbar cushion. Defined by its clean, geometric timber frame, this rocking armchair balances structural rigidity with comfort. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a dark brown leather, segmented with subtle vertical stitching to provide a tailored appearance. A rectangular lumbar cushion in a contrasting light grey fabric rests against the back, offering ergonomic support. The base consists of two smooth, curved rockers integrated into the frame, allowing for a gentle motion. The exposed wood grain adds a natural warmth, making it a versatile choice for interiors focusing on materiality and refined, functional design.

The download is a 10.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is managed via a clean layer structure, allowing for easy separation of the timber frame, leather upholstery, and fabric cushion. Users should check the material IDs upon import to ensure texture maps, particularly the wood grain and leather bump, are correctly assigned. The pivot point is positioned at the base of the rockers, facilitating accurate placement and rotation within a scene. Standard lighting setups will effectively highlight the material contrast between the matte fabric and the leather finish.

This piece is well-suited for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or hotel lounge areas where a statement accent chair is required. It pairs effectively with minimalist side tables or floor lamps, fitting seamlessly into contemporary or Scandinavian-inspired schemes. Architects and interior designers might search for this as a modern rocking chair, leather lounge seating, or a timber-framed accent chair when specifying furniture for high-end residential projects or boutique hospitality environments that prioritise comfort and tactile quality in their furniture selections.
