About this asset

This contemporary SketchUp model features a clear acrylic bubble chair suspended from a black metal stand with a white cushion. This iconic bubble-style lounge chair is defined by its spherical, transparent acrylic shell, which provides a lightweight visual presence. The seat is supported by a slender, curved black metal frame that transitions into a circular base, ensuring stability without requiring ceiling suspension. A plush, white upholstered cushion is nested within the interior, offering contrast against the clear material. The chair hangs from a short, delicate metal chain, mimicking the classic mid-century aesthetic of suspended seating while functioning as a self-contained unit. Its proportions are balanced, making it a distinct sculptural element in any interior.

The download is a 2.5 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a component. Ensure the model is placed on a flat surface to align the circular base correctly. Users should check the face orientation of the transparent shell to ensure proper rendering transparency. The model's materials are applied as standard SketchUp textures; these can be adjusted for opacity or refractive index if using an external rendering plugin. Scale the component to match the specific project requirements before finalising the placement within the scene.

Ideal for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or boutique hotel lobbies, this chair adds a playful yet sophisticated focal point to the space. It pairs well with minimalist decor or vibrant, eclectic interiors where a statement piece is required. Professionals often search for this item when specifying modern accent seating or unique lounge furniture for high-end residential projects. Its transparent nature makes it particularly effective in smaller rooms where maintaining a sense of openness is essential for the overall design scheme.
