About this asset

This modern 3ds Max armchair features a brown leather tufted cushion supported by a minimalist tubular chrome steel frame. Defined by its iconic modernist silhouette, this armchair consists of a square, button-tufted leather seat and backrest cushion. The upholstery is supported by a series of black straps suspended across a polished chrome tubular steel frame. The armrests are finished with matching leather padding, creating a cohesive visual profile. The structural geometry highlights the interplay between the soft, warm tones of the leather and the reflective, cold industrial finish of the steel. Every detail, from the precise tufting pattern to the clean, curved lines of the frame, reflects a mid-century design influence.

The download is a 48.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the object is placed on a dedicated layer for easy toggling during render setup. The leather material utilizes standard PBR workflow, requiring appropriate reflection and bump maps to maintain the depth of the tufting. Use the native pivot point at the base of the frame for accurate floor alignment. Adjust the chrome material's glossiness settings to match the specific lighting environment of your scene, ensuring realistic reflections on the metal frame surfaces.

This armchair is a staple for high-end residential living rooms, executive office suites, and boutique hotel lounge areas. Its timeless aesthetic pairs well with minimalist interiors or as a statement piece in a more eclectic space. Designers typically search for this type of seating when specifying classic lounge furniture, architectural feature chairs, or period-inspired interior sets. It is particularly effective in luxury staging projects where a blend of comfort and industrial refinement is required to anchor a seating group or reading corner.
