About this asset

This contemporary SketchUp scene features a blue planet-shaped shag area rug with a distinctive ring motif and decorative fern detail. This circular shag rug features a deep blue colour palette with black concentric ring patterns, mimicking the appearance of a planet. A detailed green fern leaf motif is integrated into the surface design, adding a naturalistic touch to the whimsical form. The deep-pile texture suggests a soft, plush finish suitable for residential interiors. The scene also includes a grey armchair, a small side table, and accessories, providing a sense of scale and context for the rug's unique, non-traditional shape. The overall composition balances playful, thematic design with comfortable, modern textile aesthetics.

The download is a 91 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is managed as a group or component, allowing for easy placement and orientation within a floor plan. Users can apply custom materials or adjust the existing texture mapping to suit specific render engine requirements. Because the file includes ancillary furniture, it is recommended to isolate the rug element if only the textile is required for a specific scene, or to use the provided furniture as a starting point for a styled interior layout.

This planet-shaped rug is ideal for themed kids' rooms, creative play areas, or informal living spaces where a focal point is desired. It pairs effectively with modern, minimalist furniture to ground the space while adding a playful, artistic element. Professionals searching for character-driven interior decor, custom-shaped carpets, or thematic bedroom accessories will find this asset useful for residential projects. It is well-suited for conceptual design stages where visual interest and unique, non-standard geometric forms are required to define a room's aesthetic.
