About this asset

This Zen garden bonsai composition is a 3ds Max scene featuring a sculpted tree, polished stone elements, and a slatted timber wall. This curated scene captures a tranquil Zen garden aesthetic, anchored by a mature bonsai tree housed in a dark, organic-shaped vessel. The composition is balanced by a stack of smooth, white river stones and a single figure perched on a larger boulder, all set against a vertical slatted timber screen. A shallow water basin reflects the elements, creating a calm, meditative atmosphere. The textures contrast the rough, textured bark of the bonsai with the polished surfaces of the stones and the precise, rhythmic lines of the wooden wall paneling, providing a balanced visual composition.

The download is a 26.8 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) scene, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Designed for 3ds Max, this scene provides a pre-assembled environment that can be integrated directly into larger architectural projects. Users can adjust the lighting setup to match their specific project time-of-day requirements or modify the scale of the timber cladding to fit different wall heights. The materials are mapped for immediate rendering, and the scene hierarchy is organized to allow for easy selection and adjustment of the individual elements, such as the stones or the bonsai, for custom variations in exterior visualizations.

This asset is ideal for high-end residential courtyards, hotel lobby water features, or spa design visualizations. It serves as an effective focal point for exterior architectural renders that require a touch of Japanese-inspired minimalism or a serene, contemplative atmosphere. Professionals working on landscape design or boutique hospitality projects will find this scene useful for establishing a clear design intent. It pairs well with modern concrete architecture, minimalist glass facades, and other natural landscape elements when creating immersive, high-quality environmental storytelling in architectural presentations.
