About this asset

This SketchUp model of a terracotta quatrefoil breeze block screen provides a detailed geometric partition for architectural projects. This architectural screen features a repeating quatrefoil pattern, typical of traditional breeze block designs used for ventilation and privacy. The geometry is defined by soft, intersecting curves that create a consistent open-work lattice. The material is rendered with a natural terracotta finish, exhibiting a porous, earthy texture that suggests a fired clay composition. The panel is presented as a modular section, allowing for easy expansion or tiling to cover larger wall areas or to serve as a freestanding decorative divider between indoor and outdoor spaces, maintaining a balance between solid masonry and light-transmitting voids.

The download is a 1.3 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is best handled by placing it as a modular unit within your model. Use the move and copy tool to snap the edges together for a seamless pattern across larger elevations. Since the geometry is relatively lightweight, it can be easily scaled or adjusted to fit specific opening dimensions. Apply custom material tags to the geometry to control the appearance of the terracotta texture, ensuring consistent UV mapping across the repeating instances for a realistic visual output.

It integrates well into tropical or Mediterranean-inspired designs, providing shade while allowing airflow. Architects and designers can use this asset when looking for decorative masonry, perforated wall systems, or feature partitions that require a classic, tactile aesthetic. It pairs effectively with natural stone flooring, lush exterior planting, or minimalist modern interiors to provide a textural, patterned focal point.
